founded by internationally recognised karate exponent Stan Schmidt
Sensei, cordially invites practitioners of all forms of martial
arts to a seminar to be held on the 21st June 2003.
“Openhand” is a word coined by Schmidt Sensei denoting the idea of being open and respectful. The objective being to share knowledge gained over years of training and study. The underlying credo of the College of the Openhand is:

Donehue Schmidt Sensei encourages us to open our minds to the training methods of other dedicated practitioners. He believes this approach will enhance all aspects of our development. With this philosophy in mind the seminar leaders will seek to impart some of their specialist knowledge gained through many years of study and practice. The format of the seminar will be a series of interactive lectures, demonstrations and training sessions hosted by the guest Instructors. The day will be dividied up into separate segments with emphasis on Aikido, Grappling, Jiu-Jitsu, Striking & Kicking, Weapon Handling, Yoga and Stretching, Strength & Conditioning and Self Defence. Seminar participants will need to have trained for a minimum of 12 months and be at least 14 years old.
