Ready position. Note staff is held in 3 equal parts.
1. Step left and block downwards/across with lower level block.
The halfway position bet-ween moves 1 and 2
2. Step forward and strike to mid-level (see top left of this page)
3. Step backward with the right leg 180º (clockwise) and execute lower level block.
4. Withdraw right leg while executing upper level strike/ block (end of staff describes a clockwise circle).
5. Step forwards and execute mid level strike.
6. Step to left front, executing lower level block.
Preparatory position before executing No. 7 (Note the 3 levels represented by this position viz. Upper/ mid/ lower)
7. Step forward and execute an upper level block (deflecting his attack from your right to your let side)
8. Step forwards, exe-cuting upper level block.
9. Step forward exe-cuting upper level block and Kiai (shout) simultaneously.
10. Turn 270º counter-clockwise (stepping with left leg) executing lower level block.
11. Step forward execut-ing mid-level strike.
12. Step backwards (turning 180º clockwise) with the right leg, executing right lower level block.
13. Step forward executing mid-level strike.
14. Step 90º to the left executing lower level block with left side.
15. Step forwards with right leg executing mid-level strike (from right to left) with right end of staff..
16. Step forwards with left leg executing left mid-level strike.
17. Step forward execut-ing right mid-level strike. Kiai (shout)

18. Turn 270º counter-clockwise and execute mid-level block in back stance (like doing Shuto Uke.)
19. Step 45º to right doing mid level block. Staff describes a left to right action.
20. Step 135º with right leg rotating clock-wise, executing right mid-level block.
21. Step 45º counter-clock-wise to left, doing mid-level block.
Bring feet together and hold staff as shown.
Rotate staff to behind and bow. Return to ready position.
